Job description

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with good analytical skills and focused on improving the breadth and depth of the automated quality assurance components.

This role is critical on supporting the development and product teams drive product to market faster and with higher levels of built-in quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and product teams to identify needs and gather requirements.
  • Advocate and evangelise for best practices like Test Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), pair programming.
  • Coaching and enabling of the team in the pursuit of quality.
  • Engage the product owner on acceptance criteria and definitions of “done” to help the development team meet them.
  • Contributions can include code review, requirements/user stories grooming, and coding where it is tenable.
  • Detect issues and help prevent them by thinking of relevant scenarios that can help meet the validation of acceptance criteria at story development stage.
  • Collaboration with the Product Owner and analysts to identify and write testable acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure that coded features satisfy the agreed acceptance criteria.
  • Working with the development team to define and implement the testing approach for user stories at all levels (i.e., unit, integration, e2e, functional).
  • Test the E2E functionality of user stories specific to any part of our product.
  • Write test plans and develop associated test cases.
  • Working with client development teams to coordinate testing effort and resources during integration testing.
  • Working with system users to coordinate testing effort and resources during UAT.
  • Familiarity with insurance, e-commerce and multilingual systems has an advantage.
  • Responsible for a broad range of testing (when required) including Functional testing, Performance testing, Regression testing, Integration testing, User acceptance testing, Data migration testing, Live release post implementation testing etc.

Qualifications:

  • A breadth of experience in Agile software development fundamentals and lifecycles.
  • Analytical and lateral thinking skills.
  • Experience with manual and automated testing approaches, including open-source test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Experience of performance, security, or resilience testing.
  • Strong communication along with client facing skills for providing continuous feedback to the entire development team on the status/progress of the product being designed.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing test automation frameworks.
  • Good communication.
  • Fast learner.
  • Be comfortable working with .NET based test automation e.g., SpecFlow.
  • SQL knowledge for writing queries.
  • Source control – Git.
  • Continuous integration (Jenkins/Teamcity).
  • Implementing functional test solutions using Cucumber/Selenium.
  • Be fully conversant with both automated and manual testing including the use of Selenium as a tool for creating test frameworks backed by a practical understanding of the testing pyramid and its successful use in a web-based, high-release environment.
  • Agile TDD/BDD working experience.
  • Jira.
  • Using tools like JMeter, Postman to write performance scripts.
  • Estimating.
  • An eagerness to understand how systems and tools are used and the scenarios that drive testing.
  • The drive to do what it takes to get the job done.
  • A problem-solving approach that is strengthened by a willingness to adopt different roles and responsibilities within the team from time to time.
